Øvstefoss
The Øvstefossen waterfall, cascading down into Hjelledalen valley, has impressed travellers over Strynefjellet for more than a century. Starting from the road, you can take the 200-metre long footpath and experience the foaming waterfall from a close distance, safely protected by steel railings.
Gamle Strynefjellsveg
The old roadway between east and west is a museum experience in itself. It is a historic alternative to the new trunk road across Strynefjellet Mountain. The 27 km long Norwegian Scenic Route runs between Grotli and Videsæter and is very popular for both car tourists and cyclists because of it's natural beauty!
Jostedalsbreen Nasjonalparksenter
The centre is beautifully situated by lake Oppstyn surrounded by lush valleys and steep, dramatic mountains, at the northern side of the largest glacier on mainland Europe, Jostedalsbreen. Their focus is nature values, cultural heritage and people in and around Jostedalsbreen National Park.
Zipline Loen Active
Fly across the upper part of Tungejølet gorge, with a view towards the suspension bridge in Via Ferrata Loen. The ziplines are located 1000 meters above the fjord, and only a 5 minutes walk northeast of Loen Skylift. The ziplines are 125 and 95 meters long and both starts and end at Mt. Hoven, so you take the Loen Skylift both ways.
Raksætra
Rakssetra is idyllically located as a postcard on the mountainside towards Årheimsfjellet. This trip is very popular, and for a good reason!
The hike to Rakssetra starts at Oppheim between Stryn and Loen. There is a parking space, which cost around 70 kr. At the beginning, follow the construction road towards Hoven, then turn left and follow a marked path that leads to Rakssetra. Here are panoramic views of Olden and Loen.
You do not always have to go on the highest peaks for the great nature experiences! Estimated time is around 1 hour
Via Feratta Loen
Join the experienced guides from Loen Active in the Via Ferrata, and return to fjord level with Loen Skylift. Helmet and harness included. The climb can be combined with lunch or dinner in the Hoven Restaurant. In case you want an extra challenge try the alternative route “Tor’s hammer” at the top of Tungegjølet which is approx. 200 meter, and has a category E. Minimum weight 40 kg and maximum 120 kg
Mount Skåla
1848 meters above the fjord you are at the top of the mountain Skaala in Loen. In 1891 the local people built a round tower with 22 bedplaces for stayover. The instigator was Hans Henrik Gerhard Kloumann, educated doctor, with convalescence for body and soul as a vision for the building.
For many years this has been a popular mountain trip, and a lot of people has run up the hills to beat the local records. Skaala is the highest mountain in Northern Europe having the footh in the fjord.
Hydla Park
In Hydla Park you can play your way through climbing trails in the treetops, yell through ziplines, challenge yourself in the pump track or relax with a cup of coffee. The smallest children can play in "miniHYDLA", the toughest can jump from "Hydlaspranget", while you can stroll on the paths in this beautiful area and explore the nature.
Loen Skylift
Loen Skylift is a spectacular new attraction and adventure arena, in the inner part of the Nordfjord, in the heart of Fjord Norway. One of the steepest cable cars in the world will lift you from the fjord to 1011 m. Enjoy the views of the fjord landscape - from the restaurant table, or while exploring in the mountains. Stand Up Paddelboard in Loen
Stand up paddleboarding, or SUP, is a water sport born from surfing with modern roots in Hawaii. Stand up paddle boarders stand on boards that are floating on the water, and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water. The sport was documented in a 2013 report that identified it as the outdoor sporting activity with the most first-time participants in the United States that year.

Loen Active has six single SUP boards for rent.
Rental of SUP boards includes paddles, life jackets, wetsuits/drysuits and wet shoes.
Segestad Farm
Discover a bit of living history at the abandoned farm Segestad at the far end of an outcrop overlooking Oppstrynsvatnet lake.
The trail to Segestad, which winds its way up the mountainside beside the mighty Glomnesfossen waterfall, takes you on a journey back in time. The farm, which is open to visitors, offers a unique insight into how mountain farmers lived just a few generations ago. There are information boards on the farm about what life used to be like in the old days.
Stryn Summer Ski Centre
Stryn Summer Ski Centre is situated 1065 m.a.s.l. on Tystigbreen glacier. Here is a cafeteria, toilets, great outdoor area, a barbecue outside on nice days. Ski shop with ski hire and lift pass. Approximately 100 meters from the cafeteria takes the two-seater chair lift you safely up to 1350 m.
It is a unique experience to ski in the sun and warm temperatures, only wearing shorts or bikini. There is always a lively life in and around the summer ski centre. Remember sunscreen, sunglasses, light clothing, but also wind-proof clothing, the weather can change quickly.
Hoddevik
Only a 2.5 hours away at the far west of Stad, you can stroll barefoot in white sand, surrounded by high mountains. Hoddevik is a popular beach for surfers from the whole world.
Ørnevegen & Ørnesvingen
Ørnevegen is the name of the eleven hairpin bends that ascend the steep, verdant hillside from Geiranger towards Eidsdal.

From here the view opens towards Geiranger, across the Geirangerfjord with its near-perpendicular mountainsides, the “Seven Sisters” waterfalls and the Knivsflå mountain hamlet. Norsk Fjordhestsenter
The Norwegian Fjord Horse is a Norwegian breed with deep roots in the Nordfjord region and in Western Norway. It is one of three Norwegian national horse breeds, and is considered Norway’s national breed.
The Norwegian Fjord Horse Centre runs activities all year round and is a permanent teaching venue for Fjordane Folk High School. In spring and summer, there is a lot of activity at the artificial insemination centre, where mares from all over Norway are inseminated with semen from good Fjord horse stallions.
Refviksanden Beach
Only 2 hours away from Videseter you will find the beautiful Refviksanden. With its beautiful silver sand, this 1,5 km long beach is one of Norway´s finest swimming beaches. Refvik is approximately 10 km from the city Måløy and has a municipal campsite with WCs and showers. There are pitches for tents, caravans and camper vans.

Flydalsjuvet View Point
Flydalsjuvet offers an impressive view and is an excellent point for photography, with a view over Geiranger and Geirangerfjord

Imagine standing on a mountain top, breathing good mountain air and enjoying the views over snow-covered mountains and the Geirangerfjord, part of the West Norwegian Fjords UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can experience all this – and more – at Dalsnibba. And guess what? You don’t even need to walk a single step.
The Seven Sisters
The "Seven Sisters" are among the most photographed waterfalls in Geirangerfjorden. They are close to Knivsflå, the abandoned farm. No less than seven waterfalls descend into the fjord. They have an average fall of around 250 meters and are an impressive sight when the water levels are high. The falls are naturally more visible during the major snow melting period in May-July and can be best observed by taking a boat trip on Geirangerfjord.
Trollstigen
Trollstigen brings you into close contact with this wild and wonderful landscape.
The paths and steps to the viewing points invite the traveller to stroll around. The largest viewing platform juts out over a ledge to hover 200 metres above the Trollstigen road that snakes up the steep mountainside. The platform has various viewing points suitable for both the bold and the cautious visitor.
